For All Ages
Orthodontics for Children
According to the American Association of Orthodontists, it is recommended that children have an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. During this “mixed dentition stage,” children have some baby teeth and permanent teeth present, making it easier to diagnose developmental concerns that can be corrected with early orthodontic intervention.
Problems to watch out for in children:
- Excessive spacing – gaps between teeth
- Crowding – teeth overlap one another or are crooked
- Open bite – front teeth don’t come in contact when the mouth is closed
- Crossbite – lower tooth sits in front of upper tooth
- Underbite – lower jaw sits in front of the upper jaw
- Abnormal eruption – tooth came out far from its ideal position
- Overjet – “buck teeth”
Early intervention will allow us to correct and guide the growth of your jaws and teeth to their ideal positions early on, preventing the need for complex treatments later on. And in most cases, tooth extractions are unnecessary during phase two of treatment.
Orthodontics for Teens
Gone are the days when teens didn’t want to undergo orthodontic treatment. Teens are now fully aware of the benefits of having orthodontic treatment earlier, such as having stunning, confident smiles.
Teenage years can be challenging even without orthodontic treatment. Therefore, we will discuss orthodontic options in detail, so parents and teenagers become part of the process and are able to choose the treatment option most appropriate to suit your teenager’s busy life.
With orthodontic advancements, teens have more options now to straighten their teeth other than metal braces.
- Ceramic braces use clear or tooth-colored brackets that are subtler and less noticeable than metal braces.
- Self-ligating braces don’t use colored elastics to make them look more discreet than traditional metal braces.
- Invisalign Teen uses a series of removable, clear aligner trays to move teeth to their ideal positions discreetly.
Orthodontics for Adults
More and more adults seek orthodontic treatment to achieve the smiles they have been dreaming of. Many of them are aware of how important having stunning, confident smiles can affect their day-to-day life interacting with other people at work, at social events, and even at home.
Why should you consider orthodontic treatment as an adult?
- Bad bite can cause jaw joint problems and damage to teeth.
- Crowded teeth are hard to maintain, which can cause tooth decay and gum problems.
- Crooked teeth may affect self-esteem.
For many adults, metal braces are unsightly, or what they call having a “metal smile.” Thanks to orthodontic advancements! There are several options to fit your lifestyle and preferences for a more comfortable and efficient treatment.
- Ceramic braces
- Metal Self-ligating braces
- Clear Self-ligating braces
- Invisalign
